Acoustical Absorption
Absorbers - also known as absorption panels - are the most common and effective acoustic treatment to control sound reflections in any room.
Utilizing a combination of supporting frame and environmentally friendly recycled acoustic cotton, Flourish Acoustics absorption panels offer unbeatable noise reduction and reflection attenuation.
Room modes - also known as standing waves - are the largest acoustic threat to small rooms. While thin materials like foam wedges and pyramid absorbers will absorb very high frequencies, they do nothing for low and middle range frequencies.
By contrast, at a low 125 Hz frequency, our 4 inch and 6 inch absorption panels maintain a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) over 3 times that of foam absorbers. These panels are true broadband absorbers.
Our absorption panels are wall mountable for the best broadband noise reduction, or mount them in the corner as low frequency absorbing bass traps. If you are unsure about the best location to place the acoustic panels, simply fill out our acoustic analysis form and room sketch, and let us advise you how to acoustically treat your room.
Diffractive Bass Traps
Diffractive Bass Traps, are curved surfaces used to maintain acoustic “liveliness” or “presence” in a room.
Because absorbers of any effective thickness remove high-end reflections, an uncomfortably dry aural field may result. Diffractive Bass Traps compensate for this high-end loss by reflecting a broad range of higher frequencies before they can be absorbed while still preventing problematic direct reflections.
The curved surface also acts as a resonant membrane providing some additional bass absorption (called resonant absorption). Broadband bass absorption is best achieved using 6” thick absorber panels. Use Flourish Acoustics Diffractive Bass Traps in conjunction with broadband absorption to revive and distribute high-end reflections that would otherwise be absorbed.
Free Custom Room Analysis
Contrary to the common method of one size fits all room treatment kits, Flourish Acoustics offers a free Custom Room Analysis and Treatment Plan that uses mathematical algorithms developed by Flourish Acoustics to analyze your room and create a step-by-step treatment plan derived from your data.
We focus on Amount of Absorption and Placement of Absorbers. Use this analysis to treat your room section by section, maximizing acoustic functionality with minimal materials and expense.
The Amount of Absorption we recommend is based on achieving a target decay time for the sound waves in your room. The recommended thickness for each absorber is determined by your specific room use. Different styles of music and uses of the room have specific problem frequencies requiring specific thickness of absorbers.
The Placement of Absorbers is just as important. We have developed a method based off room use and architecture, that allows absorbers to reduce sound optimally. Based off principles of first reflections and low end treatment, we suggest following our acoustic treatment plan to get the most out of your acoustic panels. With this method you can treat your studio in steps and still achieve fantastic results, even without treating your whole room.
Testimonials
....Flourish Acoustics has done an excellent job of coming in to the studio and properly assessing the acoustic treatment needs of our rooms. The aesthetics of their products add to the ambiance of the room, while still getting the job done.....I will look to Flourish in the future when we decide to expand the studio. You can't go wrong with the quality of products they produce

"....I've had the good fortune of owning an acoustic panel from the Flourish Co. for a couple of years now and it has become indispensable in my recording setup..... The panels are very effective in absorbing and controlling sound reflection and besides that, they are very nice to look at as well."

....Greenhouse Grille has been using Flourish Acoustic Panels for over a year. The difference in sound quality and noise dampening has been significant. Whether it is live jazz performance or a house full of customers on a Saturday night, the overall acoustics and sound clarity is perfect. The Flourish Acoustic Panels are easy to install and rearrange, and they are built with sustainable materials, which is the icing on the cake. We have been very satisfied with the panels, the company and the product itself.
